Title: Sick!!
I'm here having muster every ounce of my strength to post my entry after a week away.. As the title suggests, i'm sick for 2 days in a row.. didnt go to work today because i cant take it anymore.. Probably because of my late nights catching every action of the FIFA World Cup.. Besides that, i was involved in the setting up of the new Fossil shop at Suntec City.. Its a brand new concept, everybody has been thinking Fossil as a timepiece brand but actually we are moving away from that and bringing in more leather goods.. A lifestyle approach is the agenda here.. Everyday from 20th till 23rd, i've been working for about 12 to 13 hrs per day.. On thursday itself, we left the shop at 1am.. Very tired and fatigue has set in.. So to be working for long hours and watching soccer every night, the inevitable has happened.. I'm sick!! *haha*
Oh ya, i'm officially 22 after my birthday on Monday.. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all who bought me gifts and spending the day with me.. Thanks guys.. Without you, i would be a lesser man..

Title: Brazil!!
I cant believe it.. My favourite team after Netherlands won only by 1 goal.. And in the process of doing so, I lost my bet.. *sighz* Why?? Why?? I've been matching Copa Mundial every night, and i mean it.. All the games from 12mn onwards til 5am, 9pm games i can watch if only i'm not working.. I must say the quality of World Cup matches have been pretty good till this date.. Only a few games ended in dull boring nil-nil draws.. Sweden vs T&T, Angola vs Mexicoand the best game so far, Argentina winning by 6 goals to nil against S&M.. The best part of this game is that i didnt get to watch it because i was working and only saw glimpses of it at the Balcony TV screens.. Anyway my colleagues bought me a pair of Adidas Adicolor sneakers.. I'm so happy and grateful that i have such wonderful colleagues.. Although i only know them for about 3 months, they are genuine people with a caring heart and humorous character.. Working there has never been better..
Anyway i received my NTU's enrolment package already.. I have done all the necessary paperwork and i need to send them out before the deadline and also to apply for my hostel.. Seems like school's starting soon.. Actually i'm kind of apprehensive towards to start of the new term and a new chapter in my life.. When we were small, yound and innocent, we were always taught to study hard and go into a university and get a degree for better life.. Now just less than 2 months away, i'm entering a new dawn in my short 22 years of living on this planet.. I've been away from the books for 2 years and counting.. I just hope that i can still cope with the pressure and stress of handling tests, quizzes, lectures, tutorials, projects, seminars and EXAMS!!
But as for now, let me worry about how to recoup my losses from the World Cup.. haha..

Title: Sleepless nights
Its only 3 days and its taking its toll on me.. Its tough trying to keep myself awake while waking having only 4 to 5 hours of rest every night.. I've been catching all the action from 12mn onwards.. For the 9pm game, if i'm not working i can watch it if not i have to rely on SMS updates from my friends.. Thankfully, as the tournament progresses, all the games will be moving to the 12mn n 3am timeslot.. At least i'm able to catch it.. Last night while watching the Portugal game, i actually fell asleep and when i woke up, it was half time already, so i was watching the 2nd half with eyes half closed.. haha.. Before i could muster the strength to open up my eyelids, it was full time.. I was hoping for a Portugal victory.. haha.. Small bets on total goals.. keke..
Today i'm not working so i took this opporunity to sleep through the day till i woke up around 3 plus in the afternoon.. haha.. It was a well-deserved and timely break from the late nights for the past 3 days..
Shall go catch some rest again.. before the Australia vs Japan's game.. woo.. I'm going for Australia..
*cheers*

Title: World Cup 2006
As the world awaits the start of the world's biggest footballing showpiece event.. In less than 1 1/2 hrs, Germany will kick off Germany 2006.. A football extravaganza lasting 4 weeks to determine who should be the rightful owners of the Copa Mundial aka Jules Rimet trophy.. Every 4 years, people from all walks of life come together to witness this sporting event that serves not only as a viewing pleasure to many footballing fans but also a distraction from their daily woes and problems.. Of course the pressure from work also, maybe the Bus Uncle should watch it to relieve stress but the latest news is that he's been beaten up.. And his englisg name is same as mine.. gosh!! Anyway, i started watching the World Cup back in 1994 when i was learning the game.. It was held in the US, their timings completely a mirror image of our time zone, i remembered vividly that we were supposed to attend a PE session for the 1st lesson of the day, but the teacher was a fanatic so we proceeded to AVA room switched on TV and watch Argentina vs another country cant remember.. but i know Maradona was ordered off the pitch for use of drugs.. haha..
In 1998, i started to watch more soccer and they were showed on Channel 5 or izzit Premiere 12 back then.. cant remember also.. But i loved the goal Bergkamp scored against Argentina.. De Boer pumped a long ball up, Bergkamp controlled it on the 1st touch bring down the ball, another touch to bring it away fromt he defender and finally a shot that put Netherlands into the semis.. 3 touches and that's it.. A world class goal coming from a world class player.. enough said..
In 2002, the time zone was perfect for us Asians.. It was held in Japan/Korea.. We were having lectures but once it will clash with the start of the 1st game, we skipped it to watch it at the nearby kopi-tiam.. haha.. If not, we will be going to Gilbert's house and clearly there was a line drawn for whoever supporting which team.. Great memories.. woo..
Now 2006, the world awaits.. So do I.. I cant wait for it to happen.. I am drooling over the prospect of seeing my Netherlands lifting the trophy for the 1st time in their history..

Title: Raining...
The air is cool, rain drops trickle down the window panes.. A very cosy Tuesday morning to begin with.. Actually its not.. It started with the ktv session at Partyworld (Orchard) yesterday night with Alex, Chee Wah, Ching Hei and Ruifang, we were there to celebrate Chee Wah's birthday (actual) and mine (its on the 19th).. They bought a cookie cake for both of us.. cool.. 1st time i've seen it.. And they made us search for our presents which were hidden in some corner of the room.. I managed to find mine in mere seconds.. ahaha.. When Chee Wah finally found his, we opened up and to my horror, my hongbao is empty.. wtf.. ultimate sianz.. haha.. Luckily they did give me another one.. this time with the money inside.. thats our present, simple but practical.. Appreciate that a lot.. and the singing was fun.. joking around as usual before dabbling into our experiences on World Cup 02 back when we were studying.. ahha..
We went for supper at AMK S-11.. after that.. its all downhill.. We went to Alex's friend house for a session of overnight mahjong.. Yeah.. Its been a while since i touched the tiles.. and i wish i didnt.. We played from 12 midnight onwards till this morning 7am.. and i lost.. yeah LOST!! 16 bucks to be exact and also covering Hei's losses as well.. Total its about 25 bucks.. small amount actually but i was winning after a big win.. but it turns out to be a smokescreen.. The following round, i 'zha hu'.. can you believe it?? After so many years of playing mahjong i actually did that.. 1st time.. really 1st time.. and from that moment onwards, it was downhill all the way.. no turning back.. i was just trying to restrict the losses.. but it was too difficult.. it was a turning point in my game.. That guy, Weiyong was damn lucky.. really lucky.. kept winning and winning.. haiz.. in the end i was left with a few pennies.. thankfully my house was just a bus stop away so i could stil walk home..
Went back.. took a shower before sleeping on that cosy bed of mine.. and this is how it all started.. on a cool and rainy Tuesday morning.. What a way to start the day.. as the rain drops continue to trickle down the panes.. i'm still thinking how i committed the biggest blunder in my mahjong playing days..
*sighz*

Title: Yang Cheng Lin
What a title for my blog.. I cant believe it, I went for her autograph signing session held at Bugis junction today.. It was jam packed with people, trying to catch a glimpse of her sweetie pie face.. They were climbing up the ledges, stone walls and anything that could levage their height, and they will have a bird's eye view of her.. haha.. I was in the crowd, taking out my new Sony Ericsson w810i phone and took some pics of her as well.. I saw this guy in his thirties, using those professional camera taking snaps of her singing away.. I was thinking woo, thats cool.. Anyway, the reason why i was there was to accompany Victor because he asked me to go with him to Bugis Junction to see her.. So thought since i've got nothing to do, why not.. haha.. It was fun but the weather was not too kind, so everybody was perspiring and sticky bodies were in the way also..
This morning, we played a match against Alex's team.. Finally, but my team was short of players only 8 turn up but luckily one came along late and Alex help out by playing our team.. So we had 10 vs 11.. The pitch was bobbling and the ball was hard.. Difficult conditions plus the fact that it was scorching.. We led 2-1 at half-time and just after the break we scored another goal to put ourselves firmly in the driving seat but the heat and the tiredness of playing with just 10 men was taking its toll.. We allowed them to score 2 goals right at the end and so the final score was 3-3.. I was very proud of the team, the opposition was good and we gave a good account of ourselves.. Even though we were playing with 10 men, we showed that we were more than a match for them.. Reminded me of the Champions League Final Arsenal played against Barcelona.. Similiar circumstances..
